Thy God, Thy Glory

© 2003 by Herb Linn

When you’re in pain and fearful

And the night seems near to thee

And darkness like a river pulls you down

Take no thought of dying

For you gave your heart to Him

And those who’ve called upon Him will not drown

When trials and tribulations plague you

In this world of woe

And no one seems to know of you, nor care

Remember it’s but for a fleeting moment out of time

For your Saviour stands beside you, always there

The sun shall no more light your day,

Nor the moon your night

But the Lord shall rise upon thee,

He’s the everlasting light

They that will not serve Him

Shall perish from His sight

But thy God shall be thy glory and thy might

Had you not surrendered

When the Spirit came to call

Had you with a haughty eye stood fast

Then when the dimly moving tide

had come to claim your soul

There would have been no hope for you at last…

But the sun shall no more light your day,

Nor the moon your night

The Lord shall rise upon thee,

He’s the everlasting light

They that will not serve Him

Shall perish from His sight

But thy God shall be thy glory and thy might
